Dear experts, I have a question. At present, our company’s wastewater (from synthetic pharmaceutical production) treatment process includes reception tanks (2 tanks with a capacity of 900 cubic meters each, used to collect wastewater of different concentrations), a regulation tank (3 tanks with a total capacity of 1000 cubic meters), one air flotation unit, one hydrolysis-acidification tank with a capacity of 600 cubic meters, one UASB tank with a capacity of 3000 cubic meters, one aeration tank with a capacity of 900 cubic meters, and sedimentation tanks (2 tanks with a total capacity of 350 cubic meters). How many tons of wastewater can be treated per day, with a COD level of 8000, ammonia nitrogen levels of 300, and a conductivity level of 13000?
Synthetic waste liquid: are there heavy metal ions present, and what is its biological toxicity? With such high ammonia levels, should it be removed first? B doesn’t have it; its biodegradability is unknown. For synthetic substances, it is generally difficult for UASB to achieve a COD degradation rate of over 60%. From the perspective of the UASB, based on a load of 5, the daily treatment capacity is 1,875 cubic meters, with a residence time of 38.4 hours. However, the residence time in the aerobic tank is too short, and the volume load is extremely high.
