Can carbon steel tanks made of Q235B be used to store methanol and ethanol? Thank you
Methanol is definitely fine; as for ethanol, I’m not sure. Please have experts provide an answer

Absolutely, for transporting methanol and ethanol like this, I mostly use carbon steel tanks

For both methanol and ethanol, we use carbon steel; for large tanks, the bottom plate or the lower pressure-bearing steel plates should be of Q345R grade. Since ethanol is alkaline, there’s no issue at all
