Dear teachers and fellow sailors, I have a question: What are the factors that may cause dry plates in a distillation tower? I would appreciate it if everyone could give some constructive suggestions. Thank you very much. . .
A so-called dry plate is one in which the flow rate of the vapor phase or liquid phase on at least one tray is below a specified value. When a dry plate occurs in the distillation column, it can generally be resolved by adjusting the reflux ratio or the recovery rate (such as D/F). Sometimes, when physical property methods are not suitable, it can also lead to dry plates.
