We are dealing with printing and dyeing wastewater, and we want to measure the SVI. However, the water contains salt; although we wash it many times using distilled water each time we conduct the measurement, the MLSS value remains high. What should we do?
There is no need to wash the salt; your salt concentration is likely around 2% at most. It’s not necessary to wash the salt when measuring MLSS and SVI, as doing so would render the results meaningless.
