As the vanguard in handling safety accidents at facilities, improving the accident-handling capabilities of teams is of paramount importance for ensuring the safe and stable operation of these facilities. How do you improve employees’ ability to handle accidents? What methods do you use to enhance this capability, and are they effective? How is it applied in practical work?
Perhaps it’s important: once one becomes proficient in the tasks, their ability to prevent accidents decreases
Few of the plans in our organization are based on reality; many things turn out to be completely different from what you would expect
First is safety education: I need to have a sense of safety and know how to protect myself. Secondly, enhance the frequency and intensity of inspections to ensure quality and enable problems to be identified and resolved promptly. Thirdly, foster a sense of responsibility among workers, as it is very important. Fourth, establish more preventive measures, provide more reminders, and conduct contingency plan drills when time permits. Working every day, it’s already good if one can find time to conduct one or two drills per month
1. The technical proficiency of the team must be high, that is, the team members should have strong operational skills for their respective positions. This requires daily training as well as personal insight, initiative, and a commitment to one’s work. 2. Adaptability: While point 1 is the foundation, it is also necessary to develop and conduct training on emergency plans in advance. 3. Hardware configuration. According to the emergency plan, all necessary protective equipment must be available. 4. The monitor’s leadership and coordination skills.
The key is to identify, during each emergency response, what good practices or shortcomings exist within the teams, and then emphasize those points to each team. Study*, review, and discuss past accidents. Emergency drill.
1. Training: During the process of training new employees, senior staff explain the common accident scenarios and the solutions to them. 2. Learning sessions: One or two team learning meetings are held each month; team members first read previous accident analysis reports (including the course of the accidents, their causes, and solutions), after which they can ask questions and engage in discussions. 3. Ability to handle accidents: Relevant courses can be taken for this purpose, such as fire safety courses
Improve operational skills, especially those related to on-site work; one should be able to handle minor issues such as leaks and spills that occur on site. Normal start-up and shutdown procedures, equipment switching, and fault troubleshooting should all be manageable. Strengthening regular emergency response drills will go a long way as well.
We use on-site labeling: each valve is numbered, and then labels are applied in order according to those numbers. After the labeling is completed, the personnel on duty repeat the process of handling the incident
Focus on improving the professional skills and overall competence of team leaders, and prioritize the development of key personnel for critical positions. By relying on high-quality team leaders and core employees as the foundation, a comprehensive network for emergency response across all staff can be established; this is what is meant by addressing the key aspects first
