Dear sea friends, is superheated steam or saturated steam better for injecting into the deaerator? Which one is more energy-efficient?
Saturated steam is better for injecting into the deaerator, but as long as it is pressure, a lower pressure is more energy-efficient.
It must be due to savings in saturated steam; nowadays, condensed water from the reboiler is being used
We also recover the condensate from the treatment units; after heat exchange with demineralized water, it is sent to the deaerator. However, some steam is still needed to supplement the heat – is it appropriate to use saturated steam or superheated steam for this purpose? The superheated steam has a high temperature but a low volume
We have spare pipelines on site. Generally, saturated steam is fed into the deaeration drum; in some projects, superheated steam is also supplied through a branch pipe to the deaeration head, equipped with a control valve to serve as auxiliary steam and achieve the optimal deaeration condition
Saturated steam is usually sufficient
