Dear experts: Our company plans to carry out technical upgrades and expand production, with an expected wastewater volume of 600 T per day, containing approximately 17% sodium sulfate and about 10% sodium chloride. (The above is an estimate based on material balance) ; COD 20000; COD is primarily composed of sodium p-acetamidobenzenesulfinate, ethylene oxide, p-acetamidobenzenesulfonyl chloride, etc. (it is the raw material from the previous step and is intended to be recycled). Is it possible to reduce the levels of sodium sulfate to 2% and sodium chloride to less than 2%, while keeping the COD in the water? There is no other good solution besides evaporation crystallization.
Evaporation will cause sodium p-acetylaminobenzenesulfinate and p-acetylaminobenzenesulfonyl chloride to hydrolyze.

The solution is frozen at -2 degrees, with the sodium sulfate concentration reduced to below 1%. Electrodialysis to reduce sodium chloride to below 1%. The solution is returned to the front-end process. If low-temperature refrigeration equipment is not desired, two-stage electrodialysis can also be chosen. Grade 1 is a monovalent ion-selective membrane used to separate sodium chloride. Secondary conventional membrane electrodialysis is used to separate sodium sulfate. The solution is returned to the front-end process, but it is not clear at present whether the other components in the solution you mentioned are corrosive to the membrane. Confirm first whether it will corrode the ion-selective membrane before making a decision.

Salinity can be reduced by trying multi-effect evaporation, or by using reverse osmosis, which can also lower the salt content.
