What details should be considered during technical negotiations with suppliers for purchasing high-temperature oil pumps? What are the common problems that arise, and do you have any good suggestions?
I have never worked with high-temperature oil pumps, but it seems that special attention should be paid to the thermal compensation for the alignment between the motor and the pump. That is, the designer should specify the operating temperature, while the manufacturer should provide the vertical alignment thermal compensation value. Previously, diesel engines were used to drive the centrifugal pumps, and the alignment compensation value provided by the manufacturer was initially 0.025 mm; before the trial operation, the manufacturer changed this value to 0.017 mm, and after the trial operation, it was further adjusted to 0.012 mm. This shows that it is a very difficult thing to handle. There are nearly 20 large pumps, each with a capacity of around 3000 kW, and taking care of them is absolutely exhausting.
