Advantages, disadvantages, and application scope of the dual-seal type

Dual sealing comes in three types: FF, FB, and BB. What are the advantages and disadvantages of each of these three types, as well as their areas of application? I earnestly ask for the guidance of all experts!
This is clearly explained in sections 7.3.4 and 7.3.5 of API 682, version 2004. Depending on the sealing type (whether there is contact, and whether an external cushioning medium is used) and the sealing medium (gas or liquid), each of the three arrangements has its own advantages and disadvantages. It’s my first time reading this standard, and there are some terms I don’t fully understand, so I don’t dare to make random statements here.
I didn’t see any guidelines; I work in the process department. These days the company is discussing machine pump seals, so I went there to listen and learn, but I really didn’t understand anything!
