The Guizhou Provincial Department of Commerce has stipulated that those who operate methanol gasoline will be subject to enforcement actions. On November 15, at 10:24:10, according to reports from Huaxia Jingwei Network, the department informed that due to the negative effects of methanol gasoline on human health and the environment, the competent authorities have decided to treat any activity related to the sale of methanol gasoline within Guizhou Province as unauthorized business operations. Additionally, mobile fuel tankers that may provide inaccurate measurements, thereby harming consumers’ interests, will also be considered to be operating without proper authorization. It is reported that in recent years, methanol gasoline has appeared in provinces and cities such as Guizhou as an alternative fuel for vehicles in the form of refined oil, which has drawn the attention of the **Ministry of Commerce. Following consultations among the Ministry of Commerce, the Ministry of Environmental Protection, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine, and the **Energy Bureau, it was determined that there are still many technical and quality issues associated with the use of methanol gasoline. These include difficulties in controlling its harmful effects on human health and the natural environment; improper use can cause harm or even death to humans; the flame produced during combustion is not visible; and there are significant emissions of toxic and carcinogenic substances in the vapor and exhaust gases. Such conditions do not meet the **mandatory standards for vehicle gasoline. Methanol gasoline is intended only for vehicles designed to run on it, and cannot be used as regular gasoline for ordinary cars; therefore, the commerce department has ordered methanol gasoline filling stations within Guizhou Province to cease operations immediately. If such violations are detected by the relevant commerce authorities, they will be treated as illegal business operations. (Luo Hua) Source: Guizhou Metropolitan Daily; Republished from Xinhua Net
Heilongjiang Province has been using methanol-based gasoline; in winter, the roads become icy, posing safety risks for drivers. There is a strong call for Heilongjiang to eliminate the use of methanol-based gasoline.
Methanol is a toxic substance that poses serious risks to environmental water systems; it’s good that it has been banned.

Is this in Kaichuan? Your answer is so “professional”!
Methanol is a toxic substance, as even children know; methanol-based gasoline is even more so. I wonder who is behind such projects! To proceed with the project, it is said that all the documents were sent to Premier Wen, who said that approving such a project would be a crime against the people.
The development of new energy benefits both the country and its people. That’s what you said; but what were Premier Wen’s exact words? Did you hear them in person, or is there video or audio evidence to prove it? Methanol is the foundation of both heavy and light industries; every sector, including those related to clothing, food, housing, and transportation, is closely connected to methanol. Why is it said that way?
There was a misunderstanding; I’m not against coal-based methanol. Methanol is an industrial raw material – how could one oppose that! We have also advocated for using coal-based methanol to replace natural gas in the production of methanol. What we oppose is methanol gasoline; if methanol produced is added to gasoline, it is self-destruction.
They’re all fucking idiots; methanol is toxic, but gasoline isn’t? Go and look up the toxicity levels yourself; methanol is meant for use in vehicles, not for consumption by humans. Also, check the volatility of gasoline and methanol on your own. It’s really a group of ignorant people spouting nonsense; it’s pathetic.
I’m worried about you. In this place where scientific issues are discussed, how could something so discordant appear? . . . . . I don’t know what you do, but if methanol-based gasoline harms you, you need to be resilient. In today’s highly polluted environment, everyone wants to know the root of the problem and what each of us should do. . . . . .
