Water hammer in the condensate pipeline is usually caused by a low amount of condensate flow in a certain branch; the branch that causes the water hammer is separated and discharged separately.
This is definitely caused by an excessive temperature difference between the different condensates. 1. It depends on how many streams are involved in the mixing process; we should have over 150 sealed traps. Most of those in use currently are bimetallic traps, which are very reliable, and their dew point can be adjusted. 2. We also have the condensate water from heaters and reboilers. For the reboilers, previously the condensate water from steam at 1.0 MPa and 0.4 MPa mixed together, causing water hammer; later they were separated, and things improved after that. There was also a heater whose condensate temperature was below 60 degrees; this water mixed with the condensate from the reboiler, which had a temperature of over 120 degrees, resulting in severe water hammer. Eventually, those systems were separated.
Check the pressure and temperature of each condensate pipeline; if the differences are too large, individual pressure reduction treatment should be applied, and the condensate should be collected in a buffer tank for pressurization treatment.

A water hammer suppressor can be installed, or a slow-closing check valve can be used~~ Of course, the manual discharge valve can also be opened each time~~ Hehe
Check the return temperature of the condensate water to determine whether water hammer is caused by a large temperature difference; during maintenance, it is possible to provide separate piping for the water with the higher temperature.
