In order to improve the load-bearing capacity of cranes and reduce the need for steel cables, and by cleverly integrating the hook and pulley block into one unit, we refer to the equipment manufactured in this way as a hook block. During the manufacturing process, cranes with very high lifting capacity need to choose a hook set. Hook sets are classified into long-type and short-type hook sets based on their length; generally, long-type hook sets are made using pulley systems with an odd number of stages. For safety reasons, cracks are not allowed on the surface of crane hooks. Once cracks occur, the hook set must be discarded; therefore, we need to employ appropriate methods to determine whether the hooks need to be scrapped. Generally, the coloring method involves visual inspection and the use of a magnifying glass with a high 20x magnification. However, for certain hooks that have been in use for over 10 years, experts recommend using destructive testing methods for inspection. Furthermore, since the operating conditions for cranes are very harsh and their usage rate is extremely high, inspections are required every 5-6 years. During the inspection, focus should be placed on the critical sections. When it is necessary to check whether the hook has been deformed due to torsion, the marking method can be used for testing. First, place the crane flat on the platform, and use vertical markings to determine the intersection point of the vertical lines.
