Is the CrMo series low-alloy steel, while stainless steel is high-alloy steel? In practical applications: carbon steel should be avoided when welding with stainless steel, while there is no such requirement for welding carbon steel with CrMo – welding them directly is possible. Why?
Stainless steel and carbon steel are considered dissimilar steel types for welding; is carbon steel and CrMo also considered dissimilar steel types for welding?
Both carbon steel and CRMO steel are not corrosion-resistant, so they can be welded directly. Welding them with stainless steel will accelerate the corrosion of carbon steel, so it is not recommended.
