May I ask whether current coal-to-oil projects in China use indirect liquefaction or direct liquefaction processes? What is the main difference between the main products of the two processes? What’s the ratio?
Only the Ordos branch of Shenhua Coal-to-Oil uses direct liquefaction, while most others use indirect liquefaction; direct liquefaction is more advanced than indirect liquefaction
Direct liquefaction offers high thermal efficiency and a short process, but its drawback is the relatively high requirements for equipment; moreover, the cetane number of diesel is slightly lower. It is widely recognized in the industry that it works well when combined with indirect liquefaction
