As the title suggests, Ru Yi is primarily a refinery with a refining capacity of 10 million tons per year. In China, it is common to refer to the atmospheric and vacuum distillation capacity as 10 million tons; additional downstream processing units are also in place, which means that the atmospheric distillation capacity is indeed 10 million tons. So how can we estimate the vacuum distillation capacity? Generally, the feedstock for vacuum distillation is residue obtained through atmospheric distillation. Is there any method to estimate the vacuum distillation capacity? ? Or a range would work too, but what is the general basis for that? Does anyone knowledgeable know this? Please give some advice!

Assuming a refining capacity of 10 million tons, the crude oil in question is Daqing crude with an API value of 33 and a sulfur content of 0.1 w%; I don’t have the data you mentioned. Generally speaking, the atmospheric residue with a boiling point above 350°C goes into the vacuum distillation tower, and sometimes residues with a boiling point between 300–350°C are also included. Is there any way to estimate the approximate amounts of these two fractions?
The oil recovery rate in Daqing is generally around 35%, with variations depending on the control scheme for the secondary line; the vacuum distillation recovery rate is usually around 24% (for lubricating oil-type vacuum distillation), again varying according to the control scheme for the vacuum side line. The best way is to determine it through crude oil evaluation, as the oil produced from different blocks in Daqing also varies.
