The difference between polyethers and polyurethanes

Dear masters and seniors, I have just started working with polyethers and polyurethanes, and I’m a bit confused about these materials as well as their practical applications. For example, how can one distinguish between different types of polyethers and their uses? Could you all please explain this to me? Polyether polyurethanes are defined with regard to the polyols used in the production of polyurethane materials; in other words, the polyols used to manufacture polyurethanes are entirely polyether polyols, or they constitute the majority of such polyols in the system. Polyester polyurethanes were the first resins used in the formulation of coatings. The diacids employed include adipic acid, phthalic anhydride, isophthalic acid, terephthalic acid, etc., while the polyols mainly consist of trimethylolpropane, neopentyl glycol, ethylene glycol, 1,3-butanediol, and others. The resulting paint film has good weather resistance, as well as resistance to solvents and heat.
