I would like to ask fellow experts: which one in an MTO unit is the high-flow tube heat exchanger? Do you know the manufacturers that supply high-flow tube heat exchangers for already built MTO units?
The main factors affecting boiling heat transfer are superheat and the number of vaporization nuclei. High-flow heat exchangers utilize metal sintering techniques on the outer (or inner) surface of the heat exchange tubes to create a porous metal layer on the surface of these tubes, thereby increasing the number of vaporization nuclei and enabling efficient boiling heat transfer at low temperature differences (low superheat). It has the following characteristics: 1. High heat transfer efficiency; the heat transfer coefficient during boiling is 3–5 times that of bare tubes. 2. Small temperature difference required for boiling, as boiling can occur at a temperature difference of 0.6–1°C. 3. High critical heat flux. 4. Resistant to scaling. It is mainly used for low-temperature waste heat recovery. MTO systems do not employ high-flux heat exchangers, but it can be used in some quench water and wash water reboilers in olefin separation processes. It can also be used in tower top condensers that utilize low-temperature liquid propylene for cooling.
