Is there a specified time for the demulsification value of general lubricating oils? What is the standard?
First, it takes 45–75 minutes to raise the temperature to normal levels; if no stratification occurs within 20 minutes, the result is invalid
Generally, according to the regulations, the mixture should separate within 30 minutes during testing, but in actual use, the products leaving the factory should separate within 10 minutes; ideally, separation should occur within 5 minutes.
40 milliliters of water and 40 milliliters of oil are thoroughly mixed in a test tube at 82 degrees Celsius. The mixture is then left to stand, and the time required for 3 milliliters of emulsion to separate out is measured. If no separation occurs within 30 minutes, the product is considered unacceptable. Generally, new oil requires 10 minutes or 20 minutes of separation. Even shorter times are possible, depending on the type of oil used, as well as the separation time.
