I would like to ask everyone: when considering adding BOD nutrients to aerobic biological tanks for long-term use, what option is preferable? A hydrolysis-acidification tank has been installed; after hydrolysis-acidification, the material can be fed in. Also, how does PAM detect it, and what are the indicators? Due to the incomplete laboratory equipment available at present, only high-temperature combustion was carried out to determine the residual amount. Can this method be used as a general criterion? It’s related to the production process, right?

The best carbon source for BOD supplementation is methanol, which can be degraded 100%; Next is glucose (food-grade or industrial-grade; food-grade is recommended, at 4,000 yuan per ton) 0 ; Next are flour and starch; flour needs to be fermented, while starch needs to be cooked in hot water. 2. PAM is generally not monitored, as standard laboratories do not have the capability to do so; it is sufficient to be thorough when selecting suppliers, mainly to prevent middlemen from adding salt to the mixture. We choose BASF, as its quality is guaranteed.
Methanol is the best carbon source, but its high price makes it unaffordable, which is why it wasn’t used; The usual ones are glucose and flour.
Your system has hydrolysis-acidification; the aerobic inlet conditions should be sufficient. It is necessary to verify whether an additional carbon source is required.
Domestic wastewater is also a good choice as a carbon source, and the nutrients in it are relatively balanced; Especially the concentrated liquid from septic tanks is even better.
PAM checks the outer packaging, labels, and samples weights; we do not conduct any chemical testing either.

According to technical analysis, carbon sources are generally fermented flour, methanol, feces, etc. PAM can be used to measure its viscosity, and its content can be determined by high-temperature burning; however, this method only allows for a rough estimation of the content. Many PAM products available on the market contain various impurities, including inorganic salts and organic substances, and high-temperature burning is only effective for detecting relatively stable inorganic salts.
