Hot hydrogen oil carrying time

During the shutdown of our diesel hydrogenation unit, the specified conditions for hot hydrogen carrying oil are 250°C and 8 hours. Is this 8-hour period an empirical value or is it calculated based on the escape rate of hydrogen molecules?
The standard should be that the high liquid level does not rise for two consecutive hours. It is closely related to the circulation volume of hydrogen; a lower volume will result in slower speeds. Generally, the circulation volume used during normal production is sufficient for about 8 hours, but measuring it in terms of time is not a scientific approach.

Ending with oil is mainly based on the increase in the high-level liquid level; the specified time is intended for hydrogen removal, I guess
You’re absolutely right; what exactly are those 8 hours – experience points or something else? Is there any basis for that?
What kind of device are you? What’s the temperature? Why is it taking so long?
