How to thoroughly purge an MTBE pipeline after it is shut down? 1. Definitely, steam cannot be used directly. 2. First push the oil out with nitrogen, then blow it away with steam. But nitrogen definitely won’t clean it thoroughly. 3. Gas pipeline purging involves first using water to displace the hydrocarbons, and then steam. What is the proper approach for establishing shutdown and purging standards for MTBE pipelines?
I’m not really sure about that, but for pipeline maintenance and when it’s time to replace filters or filter elements, you can turn to me.
After draining the oil and water, steam purging is carried out; gas detection is performed prior to any hot work.
It’s not a hot-work maintenance task, so isn’t it necessary to use steam for purging?
The receiving vessel is a atmospheric pressure tank, so water pressure can be used for filling; if heating is to be applied, the steam supply at both ends of the pipeline must be cut off after filling with water.

If the MTBE receiving tank is an internal floating roof tank, nitrogen cannot be used as it can easily blow over the floating disk. If one must enter this jar, water is the only option. If there are other oil tanks in the irrigation area, nitrogen purging can be used as an option. If the product tank is not an internal floating roof tank, nitrogen can be used directly

We use steam purging; first, try to remove as much material as possible during unloading. Of course, to protect the catalysts, this does not apply to the reactors. For hot work, the pipeline is disconnected and both ends are sealed.
