Why cannot the inlet temperature of the expander be too high, and what are the hazards to the unit?
The clearances inside the expander are quite small; in some areas, they are required to be between 0.01 and 0.05 mm. Excessively high temperatures can cause mechanical damage due to the expansion of metals. Additionally, babbitt is used in the bearings, and its operating temperature generally should not exceed 100 degrees.
