Hello, everyone! Why are alloy steel pipes environmentally friendly, energy-efficient, and resource-saving? What is their future development direction?
It’s mainly about corrosion resistance – it doesn’t break down easily, so naturally the demand for it is lower. This means fewer mines need to be operated, less smelting is required, and there is less transportation involved, resulting in lower carbon emissions
It can withstand the same pressure, is thinner than steel pipes, and has a longer lifespan.
1. High strength and good plasticity and toughness. Due to the effect of alloying elements, its strength is 25%–50% higher than that of ordinary carbon steel, its elongation ranges from 15%–23%, and its impact toughness at room temperature is above 60 J/cm^2. It also has good weldability. Due to its low carbon content and low amount of alloying elements, it has good ductility but low hardenability; therefore, it is not suitable for having a hardened structure or cracks at the weld area. 3. Good performance in cold and hot pressure processing. Due to its good plasticity and low resistance to deformation, it is less prone to cracking after pressure processing. 4. Good corrosion resistance. It exhibits higher corrosion resistance than carbon steel under various atmospheric conditions.

The most commonly used type of alloy steel pipe is probably stainless steel pipe. The nickel metal used in alloy steels has to be imported, and it is also quite expensive. Due to cost factors, alloy steel has been widely used in China following its economic boom. For both functional and aesthetic purposes, alloy steel pipes can be chosen; in industrial applications, the emphasis is on the superior properties of alloy steel compared to carbon steel.
