Why are the inlet and outlet valves of the storage tanks at all liquefied gas stations installed vertically, and not horizontally?
The valve itself can be installed horizontally. The valves on the inlet and outlet pipes of the storage tank are shut-off valves that separate the pipes from the tank, and they should be installed near the tank’s inlet and outlet ports.
Not all the inlet and outlet valves on the storage tanks at LPG stations are installed vertically; rather, most of the valves on the horizontal pipes located on the ground or in pipe trays are installed vertically. This is mainly to take into account the operating angle required for personnel to open and close the valves, as well as to avoid interfering with the space needed for installing adjacent pipelines.
I'm referring to the valve on the vertical pipe at the tank outlet.
