Safe use of glass level gauges

A couple of days ago, the design company requested that all the level gauges in our company’s storage tanks (with a capacity of 2.5 cubic meters) used for storing solvents be replaced, stating that they were not suitable for use and posed a safety risk. I was wondering if there are any standards or regulatory requirements regarding this?
Glass plate level gauges can be used, those made from homemade glass tubes as well. . .
It is better not to use glass tubes for hazardous materials; magnetic flip plates can be used instead
It seems there is no specific rule stating that it cannot be used; rather, there are restrictions on its scope of use and guidelines on how to use it safely. (Collision prevention, freeze protection, shock resistance, high-pressure protection, leakage prevention)
The glass is broken, so it leaks easily.
If you’re not concerned about clogging, use magnetic flip switches – they are simple, practical, highly sensitive, and don’t violate any regulations
Guided wave radar level gauges can be used; they offer high precision, allow for monitoring both up close and from a distance. Their cost is slightly higher than that of glass tube level gauges, but there is no risk of leakage
