1. The material used to repair the membrane is called a patch; it should be made of the same material as the membrane itself. The manufacturer will provide one when purchasing the membrane, but if it’s not enough, you need to buy one separately. 2. The machine used for applying membranes is simply called a membrane applicator. 3. The black parts are the patches; of course, there are also white patches, and the patches for Shin-Etsu’s membranes are white. The yellow one is made of a high-temperature material; I’m not sure exactly what kind of material it is. Its function is to protect the membrane from high temperatures, while also allowing for the repair of the membrane, as the temperature reached during repair is 250 degrees ; 4. Points to note when applying the membrane patch: first, ensure that the anode and cathode of the membrane are not reversed, and likewise, the anode and cathode of the patch must also not be reversed. Both temperature and time control are set.

For example, DuPont uses N-117, N-320, and N-324 for dry-type patches, while Asahi Kasei uses materials soaked in a balancing solution; Shin-Etsu also uses dry-type patches. For membrane repair machines, I first used ones made in the United States (desktop models), and later I used portable models produced in Milan, Italy; they worked well. The domestic ones are simply terrible.
