How often should the excess sludge in the high-density sedimentation tank be removed? How can one determine whether it’s time to do so? The chemical dosing takes place in the low-speed mixing tank; is it possible to change this location, perhaps to the inlet?
Generally, the amount of sludge generated can be determined based on the SS levels in the incoming and outgoing water, and the concentration of the sludge to be discharged can be used to determine the frequency at which sludge needs to be removed. Depending on this discharge frequency, it is possible to choose either continuous or intermittent sludge removal.
SV30 can also be measured daily for monitoring, or it is possible to determine whether sludge discharge is needed based on the turbidity of the effluent; continuous or intermittent methods can be used
