The design pressure of the residue pump is 0.1–0.7 MPa; water can achieve a pressure of 0.7 MPa, but with diesel, the pressure only reaches 0.4 MPa when the outlet valve is not opened. What is the reason for this?
1. The head of the pump remains constant, regardless of the medium being pumped; it stays the same in all cases. However, the outlet pressure is lower when the density of the medium is lower. 2. The significant difference in pressure at the diesel discharge and water discharge outlets is likely related to the pressure at the pump inlet when different media are pumped.
But the inlet pressure has always been 0.1
Open the pump outlet a bit more and try again. Many years ago, I encountered a case related to vertical pumps (installed on underground oil waste collection tanks), where when the outlet valve was fully closed, the outlet pressure of the pump was relatively low, but the current level was excessive. Later, the master came and opened the pump outlet a bit, which increased the pressure and reduced the current. He said this is a tubrine pump, which differs from ordinary centrifugal pumps in some ways. I still don’t understand what’s going on.
Therefore, it is necessary to pay attention to which pumps should be started with the outlet closed and which should be started with the outlet open; this is related to issues such as shaft power and operating current. Generally, centrifugal pumps are started with the valve closed, while axial flow pumps are started with the valve open~~
