The magnetic level indicators in the plant all come with on-site display and remote transmission capabilities. The one that is placed closer to the source of the signal gives a more accurate reading; there are hardly any changes in the DCS system. The other indicator is located at a greater distance, probably over 100 meters away. The length of this indicator is 3 meters, and a clear sine wave pattern can be seen in the DCS system. The fluctuations can be quite large sometimes – around 2-3 cm when they’re small, and up to 10 cm when they’re large. However, the level readings shown on-site vary by only 2-3 mm. What could be causing this? The wiring inside the cabinet has been rearranged as well, but that didn’t help improve the situation

It might be that there’s a problem with some of the reed switches inside the magnetic flip switch; take it apart to check
First, check whether the DCS range settings match those on-site and whether there are any intermediate variables; only if everything is fine should you go to the site; Vent the level gauge float, connect a milliammeter in series with the signal line, and use a magnet to approach the 0%, 50%, and 100% positions of the remote transmission rod one by one. Observe the readings on the milliammeter and those displayed on the DCS to check if they match; if not, adjust the transduction unit accordingly.
Is the fluctuation value a fixed value! Is the fluctuation time consistent! If the fluctuation value is a value! Then manually place the magnetic float here to see if there is any fluctuation! There are many inspection methods! It’s very simple! It has little to do with nearness and distance perception!
