Should the heat exchanger be placed horizontally or vertically?

How should a fixed-tube-sheet heat exchanger be placed in the workshop? A colleague said it’s better to place it horizontally, but they can’t explain why. I’m reaching out to everyone for help :)
A horizontal layout is preferred, as it eliminates the need for platforms, makes lifting easier, and facilitates maintenance.
Horizontal types are more common; vertical types do not have the same stability as horizontal types when their length increases.
The horizontal type is great – it’s stable, easy for lifting and maintenance, and doesn’t require a platform for support.
It is easy to maintain and install, and its stability is better than when it is placed upright
Horizontal types are better for liquid heat exchange; for cooling gas materials, vertical types are preferable
Horizontal is better as it facilitates liquid flow; vertical ones are generally used for absorption tanks
This should be determined based on the space available in your workshop, as well as considering your heat exchange medium; if it is a gas that needs to be heated or cooled, a vertical design is preferable. If it is to be simply placed there, or for the sake of ease of maintenance, a horizontal layout would be better.
So, is it better to use the tube side or the shell side for the materials?
