The storage tanks are all equipped with level gauges and level transmitters connected to a remote DCS system； Some level transmitters are installed by being inserted at the side of the bottom of the storage tank ； Some are installed by being inserted vertically at the top of the storage tank ； Is this based on those characteristics of the instrument? Is it still determined by the properties of the material inside the storage tank?
The bottom one should be a level transmitter with a single flange, while the top one might be a float or a magnetostrictive level gauge.
Radar and ultrasonic level gauges should be installed on the top of the tank； The hydrostatic level gauge should be installed at the bottom of the tank ； Buoyant level gauges should be installed on the side or top of the tank. Different measurement principles require different installation methods.
