Some pressure reducing valves have a small hole on them (it’s included with the valve when it leaves the factory, and it causes air leakage); what is that hole for?

What is the idea behind this hole design, and how is it used?
I’m asking the same thing; filters are available in Wuzhong. I asked the technician before, and he said it’s used to achieve self-balancing of the regulator. For example, if too much air enters the diaphragm element, the regulator gives an unbalanced feedback, so air is exhausted from there
That shouldn’t be the case. Most of the units we buy from our factory don’t have this hole; if air keeps leaking, how much compressed air will be lost as a result? There is a switchable opening below the pressure reducer; that is used for draining water.
