Specifications for tank wall panels: the width is generally less than or equal to 1800. I wonder in which book this was mentioned
These days, the plate widths for storage tanks in many projects are customized. For a project abroad that was recently undertaken, the plate width was 2145 mm, and manufacturers are capable of meeting this requirement; there’s no need to stick to 1800 mm – an optimized design is sufficient
The width of the sheets is generally 1000, 1200, 1500, 1600, 1800, or 2000; the length can be customized since it is in coil form

In API 650 (2013 edition), section 5.6.1.2 specifies a minimum width of 1800. However, in the book on chemical equipment design – specifically on the design of spherical tanks and large storage tanks – the required minimum width is 1000
For atlas 02R112, the plate width is 1580 mm.

This is mainly based on the rolling capacity of the material
Large storage tanks require a large amount of steel plates, all of which are rolled to specific lengths on-site; the width of these plates is not an issue, but factors such as rolling processes, transportation, and on-site processing for rolling into coils must be taken into account, with the maximum width reaching 3500 mm.
Currently, for storage tanks with capacities of 50,000, 100,000, and 150,000, the commonly used design plate width is 2420 mm; a plate width of 2440 mm is also quite common.
But the steel mill here says that plates 1.6 meters wide are not standard sizes; cutting them using flat-cutting methods is wasteful. It’s better to cut them from the original plate, that is, to have them custom-made. Is it better not to use plates with a width of 1.6 meters for storage tanks?
