Pressure regulator on the nitrogen pipeline. There is a stop valve upstream of the pressure reducing valve, and a pressure gauge is located on the pipeline downstream. How can the pressure be adjusted using the pressure reducing valve? Is it sufficient to simply loosen the cap on the valve and then turn the adjustment screw? Do I still need to close the upstream shut-off valve first, and then make the adjustments?
I’m not sure what kind of pressure relief valve you have; open the cover and adjust the screw inside – generally, the tighter it is adjusted, the higher the pressure downstream.
Do I need to close the upstream shut-off valve during adjustment?
I just loosen the screws and watch the pressure gauge tighten down little by little. The upstream valve cannot be closed.
A pressure relief valve is used to make adjustments when there is pressure present; loosen the screw to adjust the internal screw, and watch the pressure gauge while making slow adjustments.
It depends on the type of valve structure and the direction of fluid flow; globe valves don’t need to be closed
The upstream shut-off valve cannot be closed; adjusting the stroke with bolts is sufficient
Without closing the upstream shut-off valve, adjust the bolt directly; generally, turning it counterclockwise reduces pressure while turning it clockwise increases pressure. If you’re not sure, adjust it in either direction first and then observe the changes on the pressure gauge to determine the correct direction
