What is a U BEND? I often see it mentioned in documents
Please post the entire section of the document, OP. It’s a bit difficult to understand on its own.

Take a look at this sentence as well: 7 intermediate tube support plates are required in addition to the full-diameter support at the U-bend. The plates shall be equidistantly spaced.
At the U-shaped elbow. It doesn’t have a separate meaning; I think it should be translated specifically within the sentence according to its context.
It feels like a U-shaped elbow, just like a 180-degree elbow
Foreigners generally prefer to translate square compensators as U BEND.
