The flow measurement using steam orifice plates in the company experiences large fluctuations. Upon on-site inspection, the gauge (Rossmount 3051 model) showed normal readings, and the current output was also normal; however, for some reason there were significant fluctuations in the control room. Could it be that the signal wires are not properly grounded?
Check whether the channel is functioning properly; it is recommended to use a return current tester to test the current channel. Also check the instrument wiring to see if there is interference from high-voltage equipment.
The central control signal was checked using a multimeter tester, and the readings were normal with no fluctuations in the data
Is there no reflux checker? Or a process verifier would work too... What you measure with a multimeter isn’t necessarily accurate; based on what you’ve described, there seems to be some interference... Is the shielding network grounded?
I just performed a signal detection; I turned the power off and reset it, and now it’s showing normal again.
Maybe it’s due to poor contact; clean it with a vacuum regularly……
Take a look at the shield grounding; there is interference.
Grounding the shield at two points can cause common-mode interference; this occurs when shielding is already grounded in the control room and grounding is provided elsewhere at the site
