A Rosemount 3051 pressure transducer is used to measure steam. The steam pressure is being measured; the temperature of the medium is around 170 degrees. There is a condensation elbow in place. It has been in use until power was cut for maintenance, and after power was restored, no pressure reading was available. I’m seeking help to determine the cause. 1. The input voltage is around 18V, which is a bit low. 2. There are no obvious damages to the exterior, and the diaphragm shows no visible scratches. 3.
The 18V voltage should be displayed; the transmitter is not damaged, so replace it with a new one.
Is it that the transmitter doesn’t display anything, or does it always show zero?
The 3051 transmitter operates at 10.5–55VDC when unloaded; if it was used normally before the power outage for maintenance, it should not be a power supply issue. 1. Check whether the root valve is open. 2. Check for any blockages in the pressure guide tube. 3. Replace the transmitter to see if it functions properly
Does it always show zero or something else? Check whether the valve assembly opens/closes properly and if any alarm messages are displayed. Verify that the sensor cables are properly connected; if the problem still cannot be identified, try it on a testing bench
If zero is displayed, the pipe may be blocked. If it is not displayed, you can ask whether remote transmission provides pressure display.
Is the header not lit at all and shows nothing, or is it not displayed when the pressure doesn’t change? In the former case, check whether remote transmission is available and verify the current value. In the latter case, check the electricity supply; if that doesn’t work, send it back to the factory

It makes a big difference whether the reading is always zero or there is no reading at all; the handling methods also differ. If the reading is always zero, check the diaphragm box, pressure transfer tubes, and the root valve, as well as the three-valve assembly. If there is no reading, check the connections on the circuit board, the wiring, and the cable connections, and then you can try replacing them.
The voltage reading is low; fix that first before checking other issues. Take the transmitter back to the pressure testing station, connect it to a standard 24V power supply, and then conduct a pressure test to determine whether it works properly or not. If the transmitter circuit board fails, it can be repaired by replacing it with a used circuit board of the same model.
