Xu Fei style: Its name derives from an allusion. According to Volume 12 of the \"History of the South\" written by Tang Li Yanshou, Emperor Yuan of the Liang dynasty during the Southern and Northern Dynasties had only one eye. He had a concubine named Xu Zhaopei; this concubine had poor morals and disdained the emperor for his ugly appearance. Therefore, whenever the emperor entered her room, she would \"apply makeup only to half of her face\" before meeting him, and upon seeing this, the emperor would become furious and leave. In Tang poet Li Shangyin’s verses, there is a line that says “Only half of Xu Fei’s makeup remains,” which is why it is also known as the “half-makeup style.” This is the origin of the Xu Feige style. The answer is simply “half side”; to match the riddle’s description, the same radical must be added (it does not have to be in a left-right structure) in order to form the answer “whole side”.
