I’ve seen some actual piping systems: the valves have the same diameter as the pipes, and they are connected to the pump via elbows.
At the very least, the pump inlet is not an appropriate location; it is necessary to minimize the length of the piping behind the necking to reduce resistance and avoid cavitation.

Then I can only say that those who created the flowchart and those who supplied the pumps didn’t coordinate well. The interface size of the pump is assumed to be the same as that of the pipeline in the flow diagram, but this is not the case when it arrives.
The pump outlet is first enlarged using an eccentric pipe before the valve is installed.
