I have a question: I am currently working on a heat exchanger for dichloromethane. When checking corrosion manuals regarding the compatibility of dichloromethane with materials such as carbon steel and copper, the condition specified is that the concentration must be listed as “dry” for such materials to be suitable. Does this “dry” refer to a 100% concentration, or does it mean that the substance must be in gaseous form?
Grafite heat exchangers are typically used in dichloromethane heat exchangers. We supply round-block porous graphite heat exchangers to several silicone factories, available in various specifications ranging from YKC-15m2 to YKC-500m2. There are also dichloromethane-based products among pesticide intermediates, and we supply graphite heat exchangers to our customers; the common specifications range from YKC-25m2 to YKC-200m2. At present, the heat exchangers used in domestic dichloromethane plants are all graphite heat exchangers, and the tower equipment as well is made of graphite. The same is true for several foreign devices I have come into contact with. I hope my suggestions are helpful to you.
Generally, keep the moisture level under control; 100PPM or less is sufficient
