Our plant is equipped with a four-effect evaporation unit with an evaporation capacity of 5 tons per hour; it is used to evaporate wastewater containing 10–13% sodium salts. After the fourth stage of evaporation, a vacuum pump is installed following the condenser, which is used for vacuum distillation. Our company has 6 kilograms of steam. I would like to know what ranges the pressure and temperature should be maintained in each stage. What level of negative pressure is appropriate for vacuum control? I would be very grateful if experts could provide some guidance.
For simply steaming sodium salt wastewater, 6 bar of steam is more than sufficient. Even to increase the heat transfer temperature difference, you can maintain a higher vacuum level, allowing the wastewater to boil at a lower temperature.
