The instrument manual mentions a remote control function for the valve. I would like to ask what is meant by remote control? I have two questions: First, remote control refers to operation from a distance – as long as the switching is not done directly on the valve itself, whether it’s manually or through interlocks triggered by other signals, is that correct? II. Is it only applicable to on-off cut-off valves? Is it possible to remotely control a control valve? However, the control valve can be manually operated via the DCS interface, namely through the so-called operator.
The valves we use from Wilan in Canada can also be opened remotely; they are electric.

Remote control of switch valves refers to the ability of DCS to operate valves; it is conceptually similar to the DCS remote control of motors. Remote control of control valves is denoted by HIC; for example, in a hydrogenation reactor, HV can be set to manually release a small amount of rich gas, but pressure control is also regulated by other process parameters. Also, the two parallel flow streams go downstream; to prevent misalignment of the flows, an HIC is installed on one stream and an FIC on the other, thereby avoiding conflicts between the two streams. The HIC remote control reflects the concept of the process design control scheme. I see, haha. Remote control is also a type of “local operation”; it’s not the same concept as remote operation in a DCS system. It’s as if you’re pressing a button on the valve; many of the valves that can be controlled remotely are electric valves (I’ve encountered mostly Rotork valves), and remote control makes it possible to achieve explosion protection easily. As for whether only on-off valves support it, I’m not sure either. Always, the remote control is for “local operation” rather than “remote operation via DCS”.
