AB Controllogix PLC with new I/O points added while powered on

The factory originally had an AB Controllogix PLC system, with each IO card having some spare points (channels). Since this PLC is used to control production and cannot lose power, we plan to add new analog input and output points while the system is still running. The technical staff from Rockwell said there is no problem. Friends, has anyone of you done this before?
As long as it has been configured before, wiring is possible; you can try sending a signal to the AI, and you will be able to see whether there is any input in the background
There’s no problem with the configuration; just be careful during installation. If something touches that wire and causes the device to stop working, that will be troublesome. Therefore, avoid carrying out work online unless it is absolutely necessary.
Theoretically, connecting things online should be no problem; you just need to pay attention to a few points: 1. Do not loosen the 24V power cable of the template. 2. Do not loosen the AI cables that have already been connected. 3. Do not connect high-voltage signals. 4. The program is online first, then new locations and the program are added, and finally it is downloaded. If the program is written offline and then downloaded, it will stop the CPU
