Problems with wedge flow meters

I have a question for professionals: when replacing electromagnetic flowmeters with wedge flowmeters in the same installation, will it affect the flow rate if the pipes remain unchanged? Our electromagnetic flowmeter isn’t working very well; the manufacturer suggests replacing it with a wedge-shaped one, but I’m worried that this change will affect the maximum flow rate.
Wedge flow meters incur pressure loss, which of course reduces the maximum flow rate
It seems that it can be replaced easily; the pressure loss of wedge flow meters is quite low. More attention should be paid to the material used – electromagnetic types usually have linings that provide corrosion resistance.
