The last edit to this post was made by Beiren Ming on 2016-9-7 at 11:47. Regarding the distillation tower, I would like to ask whether the top temperature and pressure should increase or decrease? Don’t consider anything.
Adjusting the top reflux will suffice; the column pressure can remain unchanged.
When the pressure control valve is set to automatic mode, the pressure remains constant; if the valve is set to manual mode and the temperature rises, then according to Bernoulli’s equation for gaseous equilibrium, pv=nrt, the pressure will increase.
If other factors are not taken into account, the temperature should rise; the temperature entering the reflux tank also increases, and the light components evaporate, assuming that all other process conditions remain unchanged.
