Is it necessary to install temperature sensors in the coal slurry pipeline of the water-coal slurry gasification system at the furnace head section?
We have installed surface temperature sensors on the coal slurry pipeline at the furnace head
All of these new projects require such measures to be implemented, especially those related to GE’s process packages. The reason for this is that in the year when a well-known domestic company was conducting tests, the check valves in the coal slurry pipelines did not function properly; as a result, gas flowed into the coal slurry pipelines, causing them to heat up significantly. Therefore, temperature monitoring points were added to these projects later on, but the response to temperature changes is slow, and even with these monitoring points in place, it is not possible to detect problems in a timely manner.
For safety reasons, I think it’s necessary to install them; internal leakage in the burner valves can easily cause the pipelines to overheat
