I don’t understand this design of the gas supply pipeline; can someone help me take a look?

Why is the main pipeline sized at 1/2 while the branch pipelines are sized at 2? Was it a mistake in the design? And what does IA-0101-40-25E02-GC3 mean?
Image upload on the 2nd floor failed. What does IA-0101-40-25E02-GC3 mean as well? IA=Instrument Air=Instrument piping ； 0101=Pipeline code ； 40=Pipe diameter=DN40, outer diameter 48.3mm ； 25E02=Pipeline grade code ； GC3, it should be a category, right? It’s unclear.

IA-0101-40-25E02-GC3 IA: Instrument air. 0101 Pipeline number. 40, the nominal diameter of the pipe is DN40. 25, the nominal pressure of the pipeline is 2.5 MPa. E, the pipe material is stainless steel. 2 is a grade for stainless steel pipes (different design institutes have different standards). GC3 represents pressure pipelines of category GC3.
