I would like to ask everyone, why does the converter need to be isolated first when starting gas introduction during the conversion process?
Because the raw gas volume is low at the beginning, feeding it directly into the shift converter will lower the bed temperature
This is mainly because, when introducing gas, the amount of gas generated through vaporization is small and the inlet temperature is low; introducing it into the shift reactor would cause the reactor temperature to drop significantly. Therefore, the gas volume is increased to a certain level before it is sent to the shift reactor
The following points need to be considered primarily: 1. The equipment prior to the conversion furnace is cold before it is put into operation, and it first needs to be preheated, a process also known as pipe warming. This is mainly for the purpose of protecting the equipment. That is, close the inlet valve in front of the converter, open the vent valve, and slowly open the valve for the conversion zone; the various equipment and pipelines are then preheated. At this time, it is necessary to frequently drain water from the drain valves of the equipment and pipelines located in front of the converter. Heat the pipe to between 160-180 degrees before introducing gas into the converter. 2. If pipe warming is not carried out, a large amount of condensate will typically be present; this condensate, when it enters the converter, can cause caking and scaling of the catalyst. In severe cases, it can lead to flow imbalances, as well as the loss of the active components in the catalyst, resulting in a decrease in its activity.
