ABB 200KW inverter: frequent short-circuit faults; code 2340 indicates a short-circuit fault. It can reset itself shortly after that. . . Dust removal, purging, and ventilation. . . After a while, it started happening again frequently. . . After checking for the fault, the W-phase IGBT board was replaced. It’s okay for now. . Now the other one is starting to have short-circuit problems again. . . It can also be reset right away. . . Fault word search, Phase V. . Is the board being changed again? These 2 high-power frequency converters are fully imported and come as a complete set. . . Place it in an air-conditioned MCC room. . Has anyone experienced this kind of malfunction? Is there a solution? Whether it is for ventilation and heat dissipation or plate replacement. . . Also, for high-power frequency converters, are there any good brand recommendations?
ABB’s frequency converters are quite good. The conditions in our factory are extremely harsh, yet the frequency converters still work perfectly. If a short circuit occurs in the new system, check the motor and power cables according to the manual. The old system’s frequency converters do get damaged due to excessive aging.

It is recommended to check whether the control circuit and the main circuit of the frequency converter are too close to each other; interference in this case can also cause the frequency converter to give false alarms. Our factory has encountered similar problems before; the cause could not be identified. We also sought help from ABB’s after-sales team, who visited the site but were unable to resolve the issue. Eventually, we separated the control circuit (including the external power supply controls and those related to the frequency converter itself) from the main circuit, and by using aluminum foil shielding for the control wires, the problem no longer occurred. . .
