The metal casing is originally insulated from the live wire and is not charged; therefore, there is no danger when a person comes into contact with it. However, if the insulation covering of the live wire inside is damaged or loses its insulating properties, this can cause the live wire to become connected to the casing, making the casing charged. In such a case, touching the casing is equivalent to touching the live wire, which can lead to an electric shock accident. If the casing is connected to ground through a wire, even if it becomes charged, the electricity will flow away through that grounding wire, eliminating the risk of injury if a person touches the casing. A leakage circuit breaker can also be installed for this purpose；
